Enforce His Sovereignty

[original text in italics]

One of the themes we continuously encounter in these topics is that, as you live your life in Christ, you enforce His sovereignty.

As you read about the Kingdom of God throughout the scriptures, consider the definition of sovereignty. It means a) the supreme power and authority of a state to govern itself or another state, b) a state holding independent supreme authority or power over another state, and c) one that does not have to answer to another in the governing of its affairs. We are to enforce God's authority with his power, even as the military of a state enforces the authority of that state:

PSALM 89:14 Righteousness [what is deemed right by the Lord, justice, judicial approval and acceptance] and justice [judgements of blessings and judgements of punishment] are the foundation of your throne...

MATTHEW 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority [delegated empowerment operating in or over a jurisdiction] in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

ACTS 1:8 But you will receive power [miraculous ability, strength] when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.

God’s sovereignty is based on His Word, not on fickleness (inconsistency, infidelity, faithlessness). God does not have unfair bias in favor of one thing or person compared with another. He shows no favoritism:

ACTS 10:34 …God shows no partiality

The more your will aligns with his will, the more he lives through you and his will and Kingdom is established. The more you align yourself with his Word, the more you enforce his sovereignty. God wants you to initiate what needs to happen on the earth because the earth is given to mankind.

PSALM 115:16 The heavens are the LORD’s heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of men.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:18-20 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.

As an ambassador of Christ, you are not subject to the laws of this world. You represent the Kingdom nation of heaven and the wealth of the Kingdom is represented in you. You live by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. You are not subject to what is in this world, its economic conditions, nor its health conditions. You are a citizen of Heaven. You have diplomatic immunity from being prosecuted by the nation you are serving and the devil has no right to accuse you of anything, nor can he detain you. You cannot be persecuted by the devil with sickness. And nothing shall by any means hurt you:

LUKE 10:18-19 He [Jesus] replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Jesus preached as one who had authority and we must speak that way. We are not wondering, guessing, nor getting consensus. When you enter an environment, realize that you and other born again believers are the highest spiritual beings in that room. The power in you is greater than the power of the devil. So what do you enforce? Everything Jesus said! He came to set the captives free and destroy the works of the devil. We are to do the same:

1 JOHN 3:8 The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

LUKE 4:18 He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives

MARK 3:11 And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”

When you are ministering, you are not operating in a certain amount of authority, but in the full authority that Jesus has over heaven and earth.

1 JOHN 4:17 ...as he [Jesus] is so also are we in this world

You do not need permission to minister because Jesus has commanded it. The world is waiting for the children of God to manifest. Many people depend on you reaching out to them. Some will live or die based on your faith. Be an ambassador that reconciles the world to God. If something (spirit, soul, or body) on earth does not look like what it's supposed to in Heaven, then reconcile it in Jesus' name.

ROMANS 8:19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing [revelation, unveiling, word used in the revelation of Jesus Christ, especially a particular manifestation of his will previously unknown] of the sons of God.

JUDE 1:25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

As you walk in this confidence, some people may consider you arrogant. However, these people have false humility and belittle themselves and encourage others to act lowly. That is not true humility. To walk in humility means to do all that God commanded us to do and to act the way he told us to act. Go boldly! Christ has set us free and empowered us to set others free!
